Bergwerke sind doof! / Mines are not comfy!

Bergwerksbesichtigung, ...
Mine-sightseeing ...

es ist Kalt, Nass und ungemütlich. Wer ist blos auf so eine Schnapsidee gekommen? Hier kann kein Bär Überwintern!
it´s cold, soggy wet, whoever had this silly idea? No bear would choose such a cave to hibernate!

Hier an dieser Quelle war es vorher wenigstens schön und gemütlich!
Here it was nice and serene!

in the USA.

"Airplane-food", was OK, when one is hungry like me.

"Well naow, theys talkin as if they have chewin gum in their mout over ere, across da big pond, that is." So I got to do the party right, by having a great 4th of July here, where it´s done best.

Now I wish this is what they had on the plane. This is some real good stuff, dead cow and corn on the cob. Uhm, I mean a nice steak and some delicious corn with some savory wine and a good beer of course to wash it all down.

Prickly stuff, stittin on these bushes. If one wants to look far into the land, one has put up with some things, like sittin´ on a pincushion.

What a view. Looks a tad bit like Mars, dosen´t it? Oh sorry, that´s another story to be told some other time.

These things are great to hold on to, while I am trying to figure out their proper use. Maybe theyre´ pea shooters?  Actually they are lookin´ guides, to find the ruins in the walls of the cliffs, in this valley, oh sorry, I meant canyon.

Climbing around the rocks for a better view and taking a rest.

 What a view!

Strange "park", what will this be, did someone play ball games here?

I don´t see any nets behind the goals, so I guess it´s not about ballgames.
Big stone "bridges" all over the place, build by some wacky engineer called "god" I think. There is a "Gods Garden" around here so it must be his, right?

I wuz here, I swear, just forgot to take pictures of myself!

See, I got right on top of this pass.

There is some snow left, in the middle of summer.

Just to show you how high us bears can climb.

Busy tellin stories: "And then I suddenly ...."
(Hey, photography person, stop buggin´ me, I am just swapping stories with some new pals.)

Wow, I haven´t met these guys until today. These elfs, no I think they are elks, have fun stories to tell, about the visitors who come to this park.

I told you this is "bear country" !

 Here you see me ...

 enjoying another ...

great view.

From something I call ...

the "sitting rock" as it was very comfortable here.

Taking a break after a car-hike.

On my seat on the way home.

I am missing the steaks already!

Good old Germany

As one never knows ones surroundings, I manage to talk my traveling people into going on a "field trip". A proper sightseeing trip with realxation and local fair included.

I arrived in Feuchtwangen after a breezy drive in the convertible and had a seat at the local park.

See where I am sitting in the hotel room? Look a bit up, Im sitting on the, uhm, whatchamacallit? "Himmelbrett"?

"Everything" was old style there, even the "Betthupferl" for crying out loud. I would have understood honey to be an oldy style treat for guests, but an apple?, come on, get a new idea. I am happy it didn´t last for too many days.

Though I must say a few things where huge. I did have a good talk with this fellow bear.

This town truly was a very peculiar place. They even have "portals" into Teddy Land, which I only heard of a very few times and never Imagined I´d see one in my lifetime! It was very hard to persuade me to leave this view.

So I took a very real break in this real-time. Who knows what is real anyway?
The ice-coffee tasted very real down to earth, so I figure this is OK.

Visiting Milano

It is naaasty weather in Munich. The clouds get stuck on the north side of the mountains, on their way to the south. Well, I bet they are going there, they surely want some sunshine and bask in the sun aso., you know.

So, off we go, to see what we may find behind the mountains and best of all, we will visit my brother bear! He travels a lot and I think he currently lives in Milano, Italy and he get´s to eat excellent pizza every day! (I do sound a bit envious, right?)

Here we are, on the top of San Bernadino. Well not really. We took the San Bernadino tunnel, because the pass was closed, due to too much snow. As you can see, there was quite a lot of snow, at the south end of the tunnel.
We have arrived in Milano and I just could not walk past this ice cream stand and had to have a “Schleck” taste.
This was the hotel I stayed at. (The building at the back, not the tram, stupid.)
The hotel was quite cute, a bit on the old style, with flower wallpaper in the room, cream paint designs and a colourfully painted elevator.

Here I had a great cocktail at the Caffee Miani “Zucca” in the splendid mall Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, beside the Piazza del Duomo.

Ahh, what a view, sitting at the top bar of the big department store "la Rinascente" by the piazza Domo. They have their customers pay for the view though, the prices are as high as the view itself.

“Yehaa”

I had to jump quite a few times to have someone take this picture for me, sorry that it is a bit on the crooked side.

Here my brother and myself are taking a break at an italian restaurant. We are the peak of the Brunate mountain, in the town of Brunate close to Como at the lake Como.

At first, I did try to eat this pasta with human cutlery. You can see the size of it behind me, belonging to the other seat. They made me feel like a medieval knight, on his brave horse at a tournament! I waged my battle bravely, but finally lost and had to use my paws, to eat the rest. These noodles where very tasty, just right!

Friends in high places

I had a very special meeting just recently. I am actually still quite thrilled about it,

As you can see, he is a bit taller than myself and is called Bernie. He works quite a lot at Basketball games. Actually, he is one of the most important persons there. He makes sure that every game runs smooth and that people are enjoying it. I got to know him at the end of last year and we´ve been friends since then. He has this slightly loop-sided grin but he really is funny, you just have to meet him some day.

... been to Düsseldorf

Eager to go on a trip, I grabbed the chance to visit the German town of Düsseldorf, close to Cologne and Bonn.

They have a fun "hanging tram" at the airport, serving as an airport shuttle to the public transport system, and I had to get up at 4 to catch the early bird LH flight to get there.

Finally, at the "Kolping HausHotel, was allright for a nap an breakfast.

I tagged along to a nice Arabic restaurant "Byblos" in the evening, taking a break on the marble inlayed table and nicely decorated rooms.
Sadly I can´t show you the food we got served the day before, at the Japanese Restaurant "Naniwain a bathtub, uhm sorry, I mean "soup bowl". It was so huge, I could have taken a bath in it with ease and space to spare.

Every trip ends, this is a view of the DUS International Airport. And by the way, don´t be surprised, in DUS they have an underground, but you´ll see a tram "chugging" along in this underground. Maybe they ran out of moneys while building it? I don´t know.
